Honours and Awards Received by Dr Rajiv Raman 

Dr. Rajiv Raman, was honored with the title of 'Professor of Practice' in May 2023. This prestigious recognition was bestowed upon him by the Department of Medical Sciences and Technology at IIT - Madras.

Dr. Rajiv Raman was honored with the esteemed P Siva Reddy International Award during the Virtual AIOS meeting in June 2021. This recognition was bestowed upon him for his significant and impactful research contributions in the field of Diabetic Retinopathy, cementing his position as a leading expert in the ophthalmology community.

During the Annual Graduation Ceremony of the Anglia Ruskin University, located in Cambridge, UK, Dr. Rajiv Raman, Senior Consultant in the Vitroretina Department at Sankara Nethralaya, received an honorary Doctorate in Health Services. The University is renowned worldwide for its academic and research excellence and recognizes professionals who have made significant contributions to society. Dr. Raman was acknowledged for his pioneering research in the use of Artificial Intelligence to detect diabetic retinopathy, as mentioned in the University's in-house journal. The ceremony, which was attended by 2,600 students and faculty members, was held in October 2019.

Dr. Rajiv Raman has received recognition from the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) for his significant contributions in the field of diabetic retinopathy. The society has acknowledged his exceptional efforts in advancing the understanding and treatment of this condition.

In 2005, he was honored to receive two distinguished awards for his contributions in the field of clinical sciences and consultancy. These accolades include the Ruby Banik Memorial Award for Best Research in Clinical Sciences and the Dr. TLK Row Memorial Endowment Award for Best Associate Consultant for the year 2004-05.

In 2005, honored with the Merit Young Investigator Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions in the field of research. This accolade signifies the individual's exceptional accomplishments and promise as a promising young investigator.

In 1999, Dr. Rajiv was recognized as the Best Outgoing Postgraduate in Ophthalmology, having demonstrated exceptional academic performance and skills in the field. Dr. Rajiv's outstanding achievements were recognized through the award, which is a testament to their dedication and hard work.

Throughout his academic career, Dr Raman has achieved numerous accolades in the field of medicine. In 1992, he was awarded the highly coveted Dr. BD Mulye Gold Medal for his outstanding work in Physiology. The following year, he was bestowed with the equally prestigious Dr. SN Gupta Gold Medal in Pharmacology, as well as the Dr. Mohan Rangan Pathology Award, cementing their expertise in these fields. In 1995, Dr Raman's exceptional skills in Medicine earned him the Dr. GN Kamle Medal, and was further honored with the Late Shri Balvant Sodlikar Gold Medal for achieving the top spot in the final MBBS examination.
