Growing up with a solid work ethic and a passion for helping others, Dr. Raman was inspired to pursue a medical career, specifically in ophthalmology. He completed his medical degree at MGM Medical College, Indore. He excelled academically and gained recognition for his outstanding performance in various fields.
Dr. Raman continued his education by earning an M.S. from Government Medical College, Surat, Gujarat. Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at Sankara Nethralaya Eye Hospital in Chennai. Dr. Raman also received a Fellowship from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Edinburgh, and was awarded a Doctorate of Health Sciences from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK.

Dr. Raman is a dedicated researcher with a primary focus on epidemiology and various eye diseases, notably diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. He is particularly intrigued by the potential of tele-screening methods for diabetic retinopathy and retinopathy of prematurity, in addition to utilizing advanced imaging techniques like wide-field retinal imaging and optical coherence tomography (OCT). To gain a comprehensive understanding of ocular health, Dr. Raman also conducts research on functional tests such as contrast sensitivity and color vision evaluations. Furthermore, he actively explores the applications of deep learning algorithms in the field of ophthalmology, with the ultimate goal of developing automated systems for more accurate disease diagnosis and effective management.
